Morrow Pacific project review announcement

The Corps of Engineers in Portland has announced it will seek an Environmental Assessment for the Port of Morrow project in Oregon. We consider this great news for the Morrow project, one of five coal export terminal projects the Alliance supports in the Northwest.  The Corps’ decision stops short of the full-blown, region-wide environmental impact statement that many activists wanted, and puts us one step closer to creating critical jobs in Oregon.  This is wonderful news for those hoping for new jobs in the Northwest.  We believe every project should be considered on its own merits, and that a programmatic EIS looking at the entire region is an extra, unnecessary layer added to an already very comprehensive, thorough review process...
